HAIL REPAIR FAQ's

I have damage on my car, what do I do?

Call us and we will guide you through the repair process. We work with every insurance company. Providing necessary electronic estimates and photos to the insurance company.

What happens after I make a claim?

After your claim is made The Summit will go over your insurance estimate. Often initial insurance estimates may not include every panel. During this process we will make sure every damaged part on your vehicle is accounted for. Once the insurance company approves the estimate, the repairs will begin.

How long will my repair take?

This will depend on how severe the damage is. With the ability to repair very large damage, PDR is the preferred repair method. This being said, issues like cracked paint and widespread damage can produce the need to paint certain panels. We only work with insurance approved bodyshops in this instance. Maintaining a constant stream of contact, you will always stay informed. The average hail car can be repaired within a few days. This greatly minimizing the repair time compared to conventional bodyshop repairs , (which requires fillers and painting).

How does PDR work?

Paintless Dent Repair or PDR, is the removal of dents to your damaged vehicle using metal rods. Access is required to the panel. This includes removal of interior trim panels. This includes headliner, door trims, headlights and brake lights. Once access is available we use metal rods to manipulate the metal inside each dent. This can require hundreds of "pushes" inside each dent. It requires skill and experience. We at The Summit utilize this experience when repairing your vehicle. The Summit utilizes the best repair technicians in the world. We work on some of the best cars in the world, let this experience work for you.

Is your work guaranteed?

Customer satisfaction is the goal with each and every repair. Our work is guaranteed for the life of your ownership. When PDR is done correctly the repaired panels to your vehicle are permanent. Some larger damage has limitations, but with advancements in the tool industry, achieving complete repair is possible. Look through our gallery and you can see some large damage repairs.

Dings, Dents and Creases FAQ's

Can my dent be done by PDR?

Paintless Dent Repair is a great method for removing unsightly dents and dings. It's always best to see the damage in person to give a proper quote, but if several pictures of the damage can be sent, this can help greatly in the estimate process.  The Summit offers mobile service and is in several locations throughout Austin and the surrounding areas to better serve you.

What factors are considered in the estimate?

Different factors come under consideration when doing an estimate. Where the dent is located, how big the dent is, what type of metal your vehicle may be. Is it on a bodyline? Will we need to remove parts or trim panels?  Most of these questions can be answered by an image of the damage. Remember, our estimates are free,  if we cannot repair the damage we can inform and educate you about alternative methods.

How long does it take to repair a dent?

PDR as a repair method can greatly reduce the time to repair a damaged panel. Most small dents and dings can be done in under an hour. Some larger and more invasive repairs can take hours. Even larger jobs can take under a day. Hail damage repairs require days to properly repair. These are permanent repairs that save your original paint and can also add value back to your car.

Are you mobile?

Yes! Most small dents and dings can be repaired at your location. With the method to repair taking little time, your workplace, your home, the mall,  or even your child's sports practice can all be great locations for repair. We service the greater Austin area and we can't wait to meet you and repair your car! Call us today!
